Position: Marketing Communications Manager
Description: In 2004, after Pat Tillman died while serving with the 75th Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan, his family and friends established the Pat Tillman Foundation. Created to honor Pat’s legacy of leadership and service the mission of the Pat Tillman Foundation is to invest in military veterans and their spouses through educational scholarships; building a diverse community of leaders committed to service to others.
The Pat Tillman Foundation is currently seeking a highly motivated, team‐oriented Marketing Communications Manager to handle all aspects of the Foundation’s communications and marketing efforts. This person will be responsible for the development and implementation of a national communications plan and have responsibilities including, but not limited to:
• Drafting all internal and external messaging and talking points
• Integrating online and new media strategies into overall communications plan
• Social media strategy and execution
• Web content development and blog updates
• Local and national media relations efforts, proactively pitching media to generate coverage of the organization and our Scholars
• Pat’s Run marketing and public relations
• Develop marketing collateral and press kit
• Manage the Pat Tillman Foundation brand
• Serve as liaison to ad agency, media and other vendors
• Work with Executives on speeches, talking points and high level presentations
Qualifications:
• This person must be an excellent writer and experienced in writing in several mediums from press releases to opinion pieces. A Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, communications or a related field is required.
• Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant marketing communications experience. Previous nonprofit experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Dreamweaver, WordPress, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
• Strong grammatical and proofreading skills.
• Requires travel and some weekend and evening work.
