Job Summary/General Description

Lead the Bears first ever Fan Marketing & Research department.  This new department will touch all aspects of the Bears brand and become a central cog in how the Bears brand is marketed, promoted & sold. 
This new department will be responsible for the ideation, implementation and execution of projects including, but not limited to: Bears brand advertising, database marketing strategy, event marketing & ticket sales plans, organization wide research activities, fan development, Hispanic marketing platform, internal promotional asset coordination, and more. 


Critical to this position is the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and help them overcome marketing related challenges.  This leader must be an aggressive marketer that is revenue and goal focused.  Important to be a creative thinker that’s willing to take risks and try new things.  Must be positive, enthusiastic and dedicated.


Duties and Responsibilities

• Brand marketing / advertising:  All aspects of our brand work and ad agency management.  Demands creative thinking, not just facilitating the process.
• Database marketing: Responsible for the development & implementation of overall strategy.  Including cleanup & segmentation of various customer segments and databases.  Must understand database segmentation, consumer profiles and e-commerce basics…all with a goal of communicating more effectively with our fans while driving new revenues via event ticket sales, retail apparel sales and new sponsorship inventory.
• Non-game event marketing & promotion:  Creation of an annual marketing & promotional calendar that allows key departments to work together to execute successful events.  This includes establishing attendance, revenue and fan engagement goals.
• Research & analytics:  Centrally responsible for assisting all departments with their research & surveying needs Must have experience working in research and customer surveying.  Needs to understand how to develop marketing plans based on consumer insights. Must proactively interpret data to improve all aspects of the business. 
• Diversity marketing: Strategic development of a platform that allows the Bears brand to better engage this growing fan segment.  Coordination with Community Relations activities, ideation of new media assets, sponsorship programs, etc. 
• Fan Pipeline:  Responsible for cultivating our fans from their youth through maturity.  Includes kids club, coordination with CR, database marketing, event experiences, Fan Club, joining the season ticket priority list (STPL) becoming a season ticket holder, etc.
• Trafficking of internal promotions:  Responsible for all coordination of Bears internal assets and how they are used to promote various events, initiatives and projects.
• Other:  Fan engagement and marketing activities via new mediums (Facebook, Twitter, etc).  Coordination and procurement of giveaways and premiums. 


Qualifications (educational criteria, experience and other basic knowledge requirements)

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, communications, etc. 
• Minimum five (5) years experience in marketing and promotions with some P&L oversight.  Direct experience in sports and/or entertainment marketing is a plus.
• Important to have expertise in disciplines of marketing, promotions, research & advertising…and how it all comes together to improve customer engagement and drive revenue.
• Must be an enthusiastic personality that can quickly earn the trust of other department heads and foster a collaborative environment for success. 
• Strong computer skills.  Proficient in Microsoft Email, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Internet Explorer.
• Important to have knowledge of emerging consumer media’s, including communication via mobile device, social media, aspects of web base marketing, etc.
• Must be organized, detail oriented and able to manage multiple projects at all times
• Must have excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Possess the ability to work with many personalities.
• Must have ability to work in a fast paced environment.
• Able to work non-traditional hours, in non-traditional settings.
